FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than books (June 27, 2019)

A Roo 4 U, as in kangaroo, will be at the Ferris Public Library on Wednesday, July 3, at 11 a.m. Bobby Curry and friends promise an exciting and educational time. The library’s staff is excited about this program as this is their first appearance here.

Emily North of Ovilla and Ronald Larue of Red Oak made the Spring 2019 in-state President’s list at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.  Meritt Drake of Ovilla was named to Fort Lewis College’s Dean’s List for the Spring 2019 semester. Drake’s major is Writing.

ELLIS COUNTY ARRESTS: June 19 – 23

McKinley, Tommy, 31, bench warrant-cps case. McConnell, Kenazia, 24, poss marij <2oz, fmfr, dwli, speeding, failure to display dl, no seatbelt driver, assault by contact, no seatbelt child under 8, violation pta.  Pereira, Samir, 20, public intoxication-minor.

GLENN HEIGHTS ARRESTS: June 14 – 20

McNeely, Chelsea, 22, warrant arrest Ellis County. Phillips, Amy, 42, warrant arrest Lancaster pd. Castle, Willie, 55, warrant arrest Red Oak pd, warrant arrest Hurst pd, warrant arrest Grand Prairie pd, warrant arrest Dallas pd, warrant arrest Duncanville pd.

RED OAK ARRESTS: June 17 – 23

Hammond, Winniedale, 59, no motor vehicle liability insurance, failure to appear. De Leon, Jerry, 42, no DL,  no motor vehicle liability insurance,  fail to yield row/private drive, failure to appear. Rios, Mariah, 25, poss drug paraphernalia. Williams, Lerlean, 39, speeding.
Ferris Bar and Grill, 210 W. 6th St. Ferris, has police concerned with outlaw motorcycle gangs frequenting the facility. A handwritten sign posted on the front door welcoming bikers as long as they did not wear their colors was posted this past week. According to Ferris Chief of Police Eddie Salazar, he did not tell the bar to put up the sign.
