OBITUARY: Clifford Wayne Witherspoon

Clifford Wayne Witherspoon, born December 26, 1933 in Ferris, Texas, and passed March 7, 2020. Wayne was raised on his father’s large farming operation and graduated from Ferris High School in 1950 at the age of 16.

Ferris FFA’s Daphne Blackburn goes 2 for 2 in Calf Scrambles

SAN ANTONIO – On Thursday, Feb. 13, Daphne Blackburn of the Ferris FFA caught a calf during the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo’s nightly Calf Scramble. She was among 456 total kids from different 4H and FFA programs that participated in the Calf Scramble this year.

Sunrise Road in Wilmer closed for 5 months

WILMER – Residents in Wilmer will need to find an alternate route for the next five months while Sunrise Road to Pleasant Run Road is closed. The closure is for the Sunrise Road expansion between the cities of Wilmer, Lancaster and Dallas County.
