Charlie’s Angels Brigade class graduates October 18, 2020

On Sunday, Oct. 18, three more ladies were added to the rolls of the Charlie’s Angel Brigade to total 350 CAB grads. Cynthia Boshart, Linda Sherman and Nell Stovall completed the Basic Pistol Shooting Course  for women only taught by Charles D. Hatfield Jr.

Local law enforcement to collect unused, outdated medicines

Ellis County – Local law enforcement, Reach Council, DPR/Impact Communities, and the DEA will partner to host the semi-annual Prescription Drug Take Back Event on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Godley takes advantage of miscues, beats Ferris 35-7

FERRIS – Two key defensive plays and big punt return helped Godley pull away late for a 35-7 win over Ferris in a District 5-4A-II game Friday at Yellowjacket Stadium.

WAXAHACHIE – Latray Miller ran for 114 yards and three touchdowns to help visiting Midlothian Heritage to stay undefeated in District 5-4A Division I.

DALLAS – Quarterback Andre Henderson rushed for three touchdowns to lead Wilmer-Hutchins (2-0, 1-0) past North Dallas (0-3, 0-2) in a District 8-4A contest at Franklin Stadium.

FRONT-PORCH GOSPEL: Restoring the family altar

Good week to all. Welcome to the “front porch.” Some months ago, a young “almost-thirty” mother from church here in Red Oak sent me a request to teach on the “family altar.” I was honored to receive her request on such an important topic. We began thinking along those lines immediately.
