WEEKEND FLOODWATERS CLAIM LIFE OF RED OAK MAN

PALMER – A 67-year-old Red Oak man died Saturday night when his vehicle was swept away in strong water off Interstate 45 when heavy rainfall hit the area. In a statement, Palmer Police reported at around 8:57 p.m.

CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY BILL HEADED TO GOVERNOR

HB 1927: Constitutional Carry AUSTIN – The House and the Senate have taken their final vote, approving the conference committee report. The bill now goes to the Governor, who has already promised to sign the bill. The bill will go into effect on Sept. 1.

Shooting reported at 2600 Block of W. Wintergreen Rd.

Lancaster – On Monday, May 24, 2021, at approximately 5:54 P.M., Lancaster police were dispatched to the 2600 block of W. Wintergreen Road in response to a “Shooting in progress.” Upon arrival, officers learned that the shooter was the victim of a stolen vehicle two days prior in Dallas, Texas.

ELLIS COUNTY – Ellis County courts are getting back to normalcy again after 15 months, and the first trial jury was held May 20 in the 40th District Court of Texas.

Waxahachie Council seats in runoff election

WAXAHACHIE – Residents in Waxahachie were able to go to the polls beginning this past Monday for the upcoming June 5 runoff election.  The runoff election is for two seats on the Waxahachie City Council; Place 4 and Place 5.
