Lancaster – On Monday, May 24, 2021, at approximately 5:54 P.M., Lancaster police were dispatched to the 2600 block of W. Wintergreen Road in response to a “Shooting in progress.”

Upon arrival, officers learned that the shooter was the victim of a stolen vehicle two days prior in Dallas, Texas. 

A little before 6 p.m., the victim of the stolen vehicle located his car in the parking lot of a Dollar General in Lancaster. 

After locating his stolen vehicle, an altercation occurred in which it led to the owner firing shots into the stolen car which was occupied by a male. 

Despite the shooting, there were no injuries. The shooter was arrested for deadly conduct and the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. 

All parties involved have been identified and this event has been considered an isolated incident with no further threat to the public.
