Copper theft probable cause of Wilmer lift-station vandalism

WILMER – Wilmer Police were called to the Wilmer Animal Shelter last week in the 2200 block of Pleasant Run Road at 8:40 a.m. on a Criminal Mischief Report Wilmer Police Chief Victor Kemp said may be related to stealing copper.

OVILLA – The Ovilla City Council set the date for its Fall Clean-Up event to take place on Sept. 14. The event will be held in conjunction with CWD who will operate the HHW collection/ recycling event at city hall from 8 a.m. to noon.

STORM CAUSES POWER OUTAGE, DOWNS TREES

Storms across the area Sunday afternoon spread debris through damaged neighborhoods and left several hundred thousand residents without power. Winds were strong enough – up to about 70 mph – to topple large trees onto cars and homes.
