RED OAK ARRESTS: June 17 – 23

Hammond, Winniedale, 59, no motor vehicle liability insurance, failure to appear. De Leon, Jerry, 42, no DL,  no motor vehicle liability insurance,  fail to yield row/private drive, failure to appear. Rios, Mariah, 25, poss drug paraphernalia. Williams, Lerlean, 39, speeding.
Ferris Bar and Grill, 210 W. 6th St. Ferris, has police concerned with outlaw motorcycle gangs frequenting the facility. A handwritten sign posted on the front door welcoming bikers as long as they did not wear their colors was posted this past week. According to Ferris Chief of Police Eddie Salazar, he did not tell the bar to put up the sign.

ROISD RECEIVES $14,000 IN CAMPUS GRANTS

RED OAK – Local ExxonMobil Victron Energy is providing $14,000 in grants to Red Oak Independent School District Campuses this year. Victron Energy has provided grants to Red Oak ISD campuses since 2011 through the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program.

WAXAHACHIE – The Ellis County Commissioner’s Court discussed a report on the Committee on Security at the Ellis County Courthouse at last week’s Commissioner’s Court meeting. No action was taken.
