Wilmer passes $7.6-million budget

WILMER – The City of Wilmer passed its budget and new proposed tax rate last week. Mayor Pro Tem Candy Madrigal and council members Sergio Campos and Melissa Ramirez voted for the $6.5 million M & O budget and $1.1 million I & S budget effective October 1, 2019.

OVILLA – With its annual parade and celebration of floats, the City of Ovilla saw its 56th successful Heritage Day event this past weekend.
The theme this year was, “Ovilla Salutes Military Service.”
Ovilla Mayor Pro Tem David Griffin said it was a record turnout.

Nancy Ann Glaspy Weldon, 78, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, in Ennis, Texas.
Born Aug. 15, 1941, in Dallas, to J. Roy and Mary Ann (Maroney) Glaspy. Raised in Ennis, and graduated Texas Tech in 1963. Married Don Weldon of Lubbock June 14, 1964.
