Late Friday night/early Saturday morning, someone driving in the City of Ferris decided to take a shortcut while making a left turn from Birch onto 5th Street.
Luckily, there was only a street/stop sign in the way – two weeks ago there would have also been a chain-link fence.

Back in 2009, Nancy Pelosi infamously declared the best way to revive the economy was to dole out ever more generous food stamps and unemployment benefits. The more people are collecting welfare, the better. At the time, this notion seemed laughable.
