Red Oak rezones land for data center campus despite protests

  RED OAK – More than 100 people attended last Monday night’s nearly 5-hour meeting  to oppose the rezoning of an 830-acre property from agricultural district to allow a data center campus to be built.

Ellis County deputy shoots, kills armed suspect in Red Oak

  RED OAK – An officer involved shooting that occurred in Red Oak involving Ellis County Sheriff’s Department deputies last week left one person dead. The deceased person involved in the shooting has not been identified.

  ELLIS COUNTY – The Ellis County Sheriff’s Department is keeping people informed when scammers attempt to break the law and harm residents. The latest scam the Sheriff’s Department reported is not a new one, but it is worth mentioning for residents to be careful and attentive.

Wilmer celebrates Cinco de Mayo

  WILMER – A large turnout last Tuesday celebrated the date of the Mexican army’s May 5, 1862, victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. The day is also known as Battle of Puebla Day.
