COUNTY PLACES BAN ON OUTDOOR BURNING

WAXAHACIE – The Ellis County Commissioner’s Court voted in favor of issuing a county burn ban in their meeting held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022.Effective immediately, Ellis County is under a burn ban.This includes all unincorporated areas of Ellis County.

I-20 PAVEMENT PROJECT STARTS JUNE 10

DALLAS – A project to rehabilitate six miles of pavement on Interstate 20 (I-20) between the Interstate 35E (I-35E) and Interstate 45 (I-45) junctions is scheduled to begin Friday, June 10.

NORTHBOUND I-45 RAMP CLOSURE AT DOWDY FERRY RD. BEGINS JUNE 16

HUTCHINS - Weather permitting, the northbound Interstate 45  off-ramp to Dowdy Ferry Road in Hutchins is scheduled to close from Thursday, June 16 at 7 a.m. through late July as part of an ongoing intersection improvement project.

REGISTER BY APRIL 7 TO VOTE IN MAY 7 CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT, LOCAL ELECTIONS

Voters are reminded to register by April 7 to vote in the May 7 Constitutional Amendment election for two proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution approved by the 87th Texas Legislature during the second and third special sessions of 2021, as well as for other local entities holding elections.

Ellis County Burn Ban currently in effect

The Ellis County Commissioner’s Court issued a countywide burn ban effective at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 25.The burn ban is currently in effect and will remain in place for 90 days.This includes all unincorporated areas of Ellis County, The City of Ferris & ESD#5.

Notice for a delayed opening by Ellis County Government on Feb. 24, 2022

Due to freezing weather, all non-critical county offices will open late tomorrow (Feb. 24) at noon. This includes the Historic Courthouse, Courts & Administration Building, Justices of the Peace, and Tax Offices.Additionally, all early voting locations will be closed until Friday (Feb. 25) morning.
