FRONT-PORCH GOSPEL: This life story begins in 1973 (kind of) part 96

 We sat in silence for a minute. Mama was fighting fading off into a coma again, I could tell. She closed her eyes, almost involuntarily, and I could look no longer into their depth. It was as if a wind had taken a cloud and eclipsed my view of the sun.

OUT TO PASTOR: Peek-a-boo, I see you

 One of the most valuable gifts in life is the ability to see.I cannot imagine a day I could not see.I was having some trouble with my eyes about four years ago, and I had to go to my eye doctor and have cataracts removed from both my eyes.

 The Ferris Public Library would like to thank everyone who participated on our recent Hispanic Heritage Month craft program. The event highlighted the colorful traditions of Hispanic culture through hands-on crafts, including the creation of Panama’s Mola inspired artwork and Mexican paper stars.

Red Oak bounces back, beats Ellison 39-26

 RED OAK – The Red Oak Hawks bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday and came out on top against the Ellison Eagles by a score of 39-26 on Friday, Sept, 19.

Waxahachie upsets nationally ranked Duncanville, 28-27

WAXAHACHIE – Waxahachie, storming back from an 18-point third-quarter deficit, stopped nationally ranked No. 4 Duncanville on fourth-and-2 with under two minutes remaining for a 28-27 upset of the top ranked area team at Lumpkins Stadium on Friday night.
