ALMA The Alma City Council held its rescheduled annual Budget Workshop at City Hall Sept. 9 to finalize infrastructure and operational financial planning for the upcoming fiscal year. The council meeting this week on Sept. 15 allowed residents to speak about the budget before the final vote.

FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than Books (September 17, 2026)

Families looking for something to do after school this month have two reasons to head to the library. On Thursday, Sept. 17 from 3:30 to 5 p.m., we are hosting our popular Lego Lab. ALMA The Alma Fire on Friday, Sept. 4 burned over 600 acres.   BARDWELL The Bardwell Volunteer Fire Department joined multiple regional agencies including fire departments from Ennis, Palmer, and Central High to combat the fast-moving flames and protect nearby homes in the Alma fire.
