666 BILLS SIGNED INTO LAW IN TEXAS DURING 87TH LEGISLATIVE SESSION

AUSTIN – The 87th Legislative Regular Session has concluded with two special sessions having been called to date. As of September 1 however, there were 666 bills signed into law following the ended session back in May.

Ferris semi-accident claims life of driver

FERRIS – Michael Velez, of Houston, died Sunday morning when his semi-truck fell off the highway embankment on Interstate 45 and East 5th St. and burst into flames.The accident occurred around 5 a.m.A Ferris Police officer saw a huge explosion on the highway and found the semi engulfed in flames.

Wilmer to install new water meters

WILMER – The City of Wilmer will begin the installation of water meters this month.The city council voted “yes” on the new water meters in July with a cost not to exceed $880,780.

Red Oak defense gives up 37 points in the first quarter alone – falls to Sachse 64-42
