Good week to all. Welcome to the “front porch.” As I write, the amazin’ blonde and I are sitting in Alaska, nearly to the end of the earth, it seems. We are staying in a hotel called “Land’s End” in Homer, which is at the tip-end of a spit at the far northern end of this great state.

Brazoria Co. woman added to most wanted fugitives list

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has added Margaret Lorrain Smith to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list. Smith, 62, has been wanted since 2009 for fleeing during her capital murder case.

The Ferris Public Library’s 2021 Virtual Summer Reading Club schedule is available at the library, and it is posted on our Facebook page. Last year’s Reading Club was successful, with numerous families viewing the programs online.

Tsta Coleman of Oak Leaf earned an Associate of Arts, Ryan Holben of Waxahachie earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity, and Tom Watiti of Milford earned a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
