Wilmer passes 2025/2026 FY budget and tax rate

WILMER – The City of Wilmer successfully adopted its 2025/2026 fiscal year budget and tax rate at a special called meeting Thursday night.It was a unanimous vote to pass the budget, which will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year’s fiscal year budget by the amount of $4,044,907.

 WAXAHACHIE – These days, you have to even pay a fee to pay your utility bill in Waxahachie.Beginning Nov, 1, there will be a 3.95% processing fee applied to all credit and debit card payments, including those on AutoPay for utility bill payments.

Midlothian PD seeking help finding Walmart theft suspects

MIDLOTHIAN – The Midlothian Police Department is looking for two suspects who were recently involved in a theft at the Midlothian Walmart Supercenter at 400 N Highway 67.The incident occurred on Aug. 27 when the suspects were confronted by Walmart employees and fled the scene.

 HUTCHINS – The City of Hutchins held its ribbon cutting ceremony for its new City Hall this week.The building’s location is 400 N. J.J. Lemmon Road.The New City Hall proposition was approved by Hutchins’s voters on Nov. 8, 2022, with 70.26% percent of voters approving.
