RED OAK – Red Oak police are searching for suspects in a shooting that left an 18-year-old dead last week.Officers responded late Tuesday night to the 200 block of Troy Lane, a residential area off Cole Road, and found the victim lying in the road with gunshot wounds, according to police.

WAXAHACHIE – A 33-year-old Midlothian resident, Jonathan Garcia, was convicted in an Ellis County court last week for continuous sexual abuse of a young child.The week-long trial culminated with the conviction and sentencing of Garcia to 43 years in prison without the possibility of parole.

Getzendaner Park rapist gets maximum sentence

WAXAHACHIE – Rolando Becks, 33, of Waxahachie was convicted of sexual assault last week and sentenced to 20 years in prison.After four days of testimony, the Ellis County jury returned the guilty verdict for sexual assault, which occurred in May 2020 at Getzendaner Park in Waxahachie.

City of Ferris is 23rd in fastest growing home prices

FERRIS – The City of Ferris has been named #23 in the Stacker’s list of compiled cities with the fastest growing home prices in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.The report stated a one-year price change increased by 3.2% or $8,224 and a five-year price change came in with a 63.8% increase or $101,927.
