Ellis County ISDs get average rating from TEA

ELLIS COUNTY – The Texas Education Agency (TEA) accountability ratings are out for Ellis County schools – and they aren’t great.Ratings for the ISD’s in the county are for 2023, and of the ISD’s listed below, only Midlothian and Palmer got above a C score.

Midlothian PD K9 made safer with donated body armor

Commissioners allow RO EDC to purchase Ellis County land

RED OAK – A certificate of resolution granting approval for a project of the Red Oak Economic Development Corporation to buy 133.5 acres of land was unanimously approved Ellis County Commissioners. The land is located within Ellis County, but outside the city limits of Red Oak.

Annual Youth Art Show winners announced

WAXAHACHIE – Displaying more than 500 entries, the youth of Ellis County showed their artwork and won scholarships, gift cards and ribbons. The annual Ellis County Youth Art Show was sponsored by the Ellis County Art Association, and was held at First Methodist Church in Waxahachie April 9-12.
