Ellis County ISDs get average rating from TEA

ELLIS COUNTY – The Texas Education Agency (TEA) accountability ratings are out for Ellis County schools – and they aren’t great.Ratings for the ISD’s in the county are for 2023, and of the ISD’s listed below, only Midlothian and Palmer got above a C score.

Ellis County Commissioners adding new precincts in 2026

WAXAHACHIE – Ellis County Commissioners voted unanimously to approve changes to the voting precinct boundaries as of Jan. 1, 2026.This change is in accordance with Texas Election Code as required.

Annual Youth Art Show winners announced

WAXAHACHIE – Displaying more than 500 entries, the youth of Ellis County showed their artwork and won scholarships, gift cards and ribbons. The annual Ellis County Youth Art Show was sponsored by the Ellis County Art Association, and was held at First Methodist Church in Waxahachie April 9-12.
