Wilmer passes 2025/2026 FY budget and tax rate

WILMER – The City of Wilmer successfully adopted its 2025/2026 fiscal year budget and tax rate at a special called meeting Thursday night.It was a unanimous vote to pass the budget, which will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year’s fiscal year budget by the amount of $4,044,907.

Waxahachie residents to be charged processing fees for credit/debit card payments

 WAXAHACHIE – These days, you have to even pay a fee to pay your utility bill in Waxahachie.Beginning Nov, 1, there will be a 3.95% processing fee applied to all credit and debit card payments, including those on AutoPay for utility bill payments.

Midlothian PD seeking help finding Walmart theft suspects

MIDLOTHIAN – The Midlothian Police Department is looking for two suspects who were recently involved in a theft at the Midlothian Walmart Supercenter at 400 N Highway 67.The incident occurred on Aug. 27 when the suspects were confronted by Walmart employees and fled the scene.

Ellis County Commissioners approve stop sign at Angus and Hoyt roads

ELLIS COUNTY – Ellis County Commissioners approved the installation of a stop sign at the intersection of Angus Road and Hoyt Road in Comm. Louis Ponder’s Road and Bridges Precinct 3.No one spoke at the public hearing for or against the agenda item.
