FERRIS – Residents and city workers are cleaning up the city following the damage from Sunday night’s tornado. A vigorous storm system running into warm, moist and unstable air across the Southern Plains was the culprit behind the explosive thunderstorm development and subsequent tornado activity.

FERRIS – Brooks Williams became the new Ferris city manager Oct. 15. Williams joins the city of Ferris with decades of experience as a strategic planning and execution executive.

Red Oak Police make arrests in burglary

RED OAK – The Red Oak Police Department arrested two burglary suspects last week in Lancaster. The arrests came after the two men were identified by a Dallas pawn shop owner as having pawned jewelry taken from a home in the 1500 block of Shawnee Road in Red Oak on Oct. 3 at around 1:10 p.m.
