RED OAK – A film titled “Shelter,” produced by Cinestate LLC, is being shot this month in the cities of Red Oak and Lancaster.
While the film producers and personnel did not return calls by press time, the film will use Watkins and Lindsey Parks in Red Oak as film locations from Tuesday of this week to Friday, Oct. 25.
The parks are closed until 7:30 p.m. this week due to the filming schedule.
The film will begin shooting each morning at 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. with a 50-person crew.
Neighborhoods near the park will also be subject to talent parking on area streets.
Both Live Oak and Waller Avenue in Red Oak are being closed during the duration of the film shoot at the parks.
A letter that went out to residents by the film crew also indicated special effects teams and stunt crew would be “managing some controlled stunts and effects.
“You may see smoke; you may hear loud noises similar to gunfire, but it is not actual gunfire.”
Red Oak Police and Fire personnel are also expected to be on location during the controlled stunts and effects as needed.
Filming also took place on Live Oak Street inside a private property earlier this week.
While there was no response as to the particulars of the film, it was described as an action film by the film’s location manager.
Lancaster city officials did not respond by press time with information to dates and addresses shooting will take place.
