WILMER – This month will see another industrial project in the City of Wilmer with CORE45’s 1.6 million square feet of industrial space groundbreaking, Stream Realty Partners and TRG announced today.

Conservative Republican Richard Rozier has announced he is running to be the elected Ellis County Tax Assessor-Collector in the Republican primary election March 1.He will face Paul Christenson, also a conservative Republican. Christenson and his wife live in Waxahachie.

Ferris offering vaccinations, rapid testing

FERRIS – On Monday, Ferris announced COVID vaccinations and testing and rapid testing at the Scout House, 514 S. Mabel.The site is open from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. for vaccinations (1st dose, 2nd dose, and Booster). Other locations include McDonald Elementary (Cafeteria), 500 FM 983 from  8 a.m.

Ferris police nab suspect in Dec. 30 fatal hit-and-run.

Jorge Garcia, 37, of Rice has been arrested by the Ferris police with help from the Ennis Police Department and tips from local residents.Garcia was booked into the Ellis County Jail Thursday, Jan. 6 at 2:19 p.m. and charged with accident involving injury/death, a second-degree felony.

WILMER – The City of Wilmer accepted applications at the end of last year for the annual Mayor’s Toy Drive for Christmas.Parents and legal guardians for children living in Wilmer submitted an application with their child’s top three wishes that were under $25.
