Ferris Police save man from suicide attempt

FERRIS – The Ferris Police Department responded to a welfare concern Sunday afternoon at around 2 p.m. and thwarted a potential suicide incident.Ferris Police Officer G. Davis was called to a welfare concern after being alerted by dispatch of a man walking northbound on Interstate 45 in Ferris.

Wilmer mayor outlines Christmas W.I.S.H. program

WILMER – The City of Wilmer is getting ready for the holidays and that means reaching out to residents through the Mayor’s W.I.S.H. program.Wilmer Mayor Sheila Petta is asking everyone who has a need to participate in the program to complete their applications no later than Dec. 16.

WILMER’S FIRE DEPARTMENT JOINS THE UTSW/PARKLAND BIOTEL SYSTEM

WILMER – On Oct. 20, the city council approved an agreement with UTSW/Parkland to provide medical direction for the city’s emergency medical services and provide a prehospital emergency medical direction.The medical direction is provided through the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

ELLIS COUNTY – Ever since I moved to Dallas/Ellis County, I have heard of Loop 9.On Dec. 8 and 13, the Texas Department of Transportation will be holding a public hearing set for yet another Loop 9 discussion.
