ELLIS COUNTY – According to area media reports new information has come to light in the early Thursday morning tragedy in the 900 block of Big Sky Drive in Waxahachie.

Just after 4:10 a.m., emergency dispatchers received a 911 call tracking back to an address on Big Sky Drive.

Investigators later revealed the emergency began as a 911 hang-up call. When dispatchers successfully called the number back, they heard chaos on the line before the call disconnected a second time.

When Ellis County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the residence, they discovered two young brothers suffering from severe gunshot wounds.

The eldest, 21-year-old Christopher Scott Pitre, was pronounced dead at the scene. His 15-year-old younger brother later identified by his father as Brian was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition where he later died.

It was reported when deputies arrived at the home, they could hear a woman yelling at them to get more units and told them she had a gun in her hand, according to the search warrant affidavit.

The deputies then located 42-year-old Colleen Nichole Lemmon, the boys’ mother.

She had sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and a filed arrest affidavit indicated when deputies entered the home, they found blood on her hands.

The affidavit also reportedly indicated they found her in the living room “covered in blood with a gun next to her” with “what seemed to be self-inflicted cuts to her wrists.”

She reportedly made an immediate, direct confession to the responding officers on the scene, stating, “I shot my kids.”

She told deputies they were in the master bedroom and back bedroom, according to the affidavit.

Lemmon was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Upon release, she was booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center.

She faces two counts of Capital Murder. A judge set her bond at $2.5 million, but she remains behind bars at the Ellis County Jail.

No additional details have been made available.
