OUT TO PASTOR: O holiday, who art thou today?

Generally speaking, and who speaks generally anymore these days, I am not much of a holiday fan. There seems to be a holiday every day of the week. So many holidays that I cannot keep up and quite frankly, I do not have much incentive to keep up.

We must know truth

Part 1 To know and understand God, we must first repent and receive the Spirit of God; it is the Spirit of God that brings us into all truth.

The believer’s mission statement (part 3)

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon us, because He has anointed us to preach the gospel to the poor.” – Luke 4:18 The apostle Paul said in Romans 1:16 that he was not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it was the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.

The believer’s mission statement (part 1)

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings (the gospel of Jesus Christ) to the poor.” – Isaiah 61:1 The prophet Isaiah prophesied of the beginning of the Messiah’s ministry years ahead in the future.

OUT TO PASTOR: I miss my good friend, Tom Foolery

This past week the Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage and I were having a conversation. Of course, it was more like a monologue, but you know how that works. We were thinking back over the years of our life together and reminding ourselves of some of the great and wonderful times we have had.

The creative power of prayer (part 10)

“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
