EASTBOUND I-30 RAMP CLOSURE AT US 75 STARTS OCT. 22 IN DALLAS

DALLAS – Weather permitting, the eastbound I-30 off-ramp to northbound US 75 will be closed from 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 22 through November 11 for an ongoing bridge maintenance project.The eastbound I-30 off-ramp to southbound I-45 will remain open during this time.

Ellis County commissioners lift burn ban

ELLIS COUNTY – Ellis County Fire Marshal Tim Birdwell reported to county commissioners earlier this month recommending the county’s burn ban be lifted.  Birdwell referred to the Keetch-Byrum Drought Index, which is an index used to determine forest fire potential.

Hawks sneak past Joshua, 21-14

JOSHUA – The Red Oak Hawks varsity football team traveled on Friday, Oct. 12 for a district contest against the Joshua Owls. Red Oak took their first possession and marched down the field going up early, 7-0. The defense stymied Joshua’s offense in the first half of the game.
