WAXAHACHIE – The Ellis County Art Association will be hosting Steve Miller, Texas artist, at the monthly meeting, Nov. 4 at First Baptist Church of Waxahachie (450 US287 BYP).The public is encouraged to attend.Steve Miller works in oil, pastels and charcoal in the studio and plein air.

Midlothian PD asking for help in locating suspects

MIDLOTHIAN – Midlothian Police posted on their Facebook page last week asking residents for help in locating two suspects breaking into vehicles in two different areas of the city.Police reported on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at approximately 5:00 a.m.

Homeless shelter breaks ground near Ferris

FERRIS – Last week, the OurCalling faith-based non-profit development broke ground in Ellis County for Phase 1 of a project that has been in the works for several years at 231 Wickliffe Road.

Ellis County – On Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local law enforcement, Reach Council, and the Drug Enforcement Administration will host DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at locations across the country.

Red Oak steamrolls Cleburne, 72-0

RED OAK – Coming off a close win over Joshua, the Red Oak Hawks (4-3, 2-1) rolled over the Yellowjackets (0-8, 0-4) from Cleburne on Homecoming night.The Hawks scored on all but two of their possessions. The Yellowjackets could not stop the Hawks ground game or air attack.
