Downed utility lines forced the closure of Interstate 45 and Dowdy Ferry in Hutchins  Monday at 12:28 p.m. The highway reopened at 1:07 p.m. after service crews cleared the area.

ALVIN LEE DEEDS, the son of Roscoe Connelly and Dossie Lee (Duvall) Gilbert, was born on Nov. 1, 1917 in Grand Prairie, but grew up in the Onward community just west of Ovilla, and attended school in Midlothian.
