Ferris City Council approves $3.2-million bond package
The bond package will improve long neglected water infrastructure – without raising taxes.

WAXAHACHIE – The last place Ellis County resident Andrea Pylant wanted to spend Christmas Day was at the hospital.
Her longtime boyfriend had fallen ill though – fortunately not with COVID-19.
WILMER – The employees in the City of Wilmer were surprised last week when an anonymous donor set up a delivery from the city’s Denny’s Restaurant with 70 grand slam plates consisting of pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon strips, sausage links and hash browns.
FERRIS – “As you may already be aware, COVID-19 has impacted all our dispatchers, with the exception of one. We are transferring dispatching (at scheduled times) to the County. This has been coordinated with/by the City of Ferris and the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has accused the Fort Worth-based website Cheaper Than Dirt, which primarily sells firearms, ammunition and hunting gear, of price gouging at the start of the pandemic.

This drive-through testing site will open daily from 8 am to 5 pm starting Dec 28, closing Jan 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.
