City of Wilmer surprised, thanks breakfast donor

WILMER – The employees in the City of Wilmer were surprised last week when an anonymous donor set up a delivery from the city’s Denny’s Restaurant with 70 grand slam plates consisting of pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon strips, sausage links and hash browns.

“To the anonymous donor who bought breakfast for our staff just days before Christmas, your gracious act of kindness has not gone unnoticed,” said Wilmer City Manager Rona Stringfellow.

The city has for some time been promoting the idea of shopping in Wilmer for your needs, and Denny’s Restaurant on Interstate 45 in the city is a popular go-to stop for locals.

“Our appreciation is more than words can express,” Stringfellow concluded.  

“This type of giving is what the holiday season is about and is a reminder that even in these unprecedented times we are living in, those with giving hearts are still alive and well in our world and in the wonderful City of Wilmer.
