High-speed train moves forward with $16 billion contract, construction team

Texas Central and Milan-based Webuild will work together to construct the rail line, which will allow passengers to travel between Dallas and Houston in 90 minutes. A high-speed rail between Dallas and Houston could be closer to reality after developers signed a contract with builders this month.

Lancaster police seek help in locating missing child

Lancaster – Providence McNeill, a 16-year-old Black Female was initially reported as a runaway on Sunday, June 27. After a thorough investigation, it was determined on Thursday, July 1, McNeill was missing and considered high risk and in danger due to mental health concerns.

CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY LAW BEGINS SEPT. 1

Starting Sept. 1, eligible Texans will be eligible to carry a handgun without a license or training. Gov. Greg Abbott signed a permitless carry bill to make this all possible. Previously, a permit was needed with required training.

  OVILLA – The City of Ovilla Main Street Parking Lot expansion and walking trails are in the final stages this month. The walking trails as well as directional signs and lighting are being done in phases, and the parking lot is complete – with the exception of crosswalks.
