FERRIS – If you received messages from the City of Ferris’ Nixle alerts in the last few days, you know there has been extreme flash flooding dangers just about every hour. Sunday night there was even a tornado warning alert that came through.

ELLIS COUNTY – Jon Russell Whitson, 39, was convicted and sentenced to the maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for promotion of child pornography on Aug. 19, according to the Ellis County District Attorney’s office.
