FERRIS SENIOR CENTER: May 16, 2019

Monday: Mindfulness Movement – come learn about the benefits of mindfulness movement. Wednesday: Wellness Wednesday – we will be doing some inside walking. Friday: Free Style – we will be enjoying board games, coloring and other fun things.

FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than books (May 16, 2019)

The Ferris Library will be holding a two day Basic Computer Class for beginners on Thursday, May 16 and Friday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration is required as we have limited seating. Aurora Ramirez will be the instructor.

HOPE FOR TODAY: Why God? Why?

I was recently visiting with some high school seniors and asked them what their classmates thought about God. “They’re sometimes confused,” they said. I asked them to explain. “They see bad things happen in the world and wonder why. If God is God, then why didn’t He prevent it?

OUT TO PASTOR: And then, it was Friday

Like many people, I try planning and arranging my week so I can accomplish as much as possible. For example, the Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage on Monday morning hands me her “honey-do-list” to complete by the end of the week.

LOCAL STUDENT UPDATE: May 16, 2019

Emily Jensen of Red Oak was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Jensen is pursuing a degree in Dance at Texas Woman’s University.
