As circumstance would have it, and I like to give circumstances due credit, I was visiting my grandchildren without the Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage. With the opportunity before me to go solo with the grandchildren, I determined to make the best of it.

OBITUARY: Annie Lois Wills

Annie Lois Wills, age 103, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2019 in Kilgore, Texas. She was born in Palmer, Texas in the winter of 1915 to the late Paton Warren and Sarah Etta (Coker) Davis. As a young woman she worked for Dr. John Fitzhugh Wills, MD, later marrying his son, Crawford Wills in 1939.

Jacquelyne Howard of Midlothian has been named to Spring 2019 Dean’s List at Berea College. A student is named to the Dean’s List who achieves a GPA of 3.4 or higher while passing at least 4 total credits, a course load equivalent to 16 semester hours.

FERRIS: Shelter dogs becoming weapons/drug detection dogs

FERRIS – A different type of graduation celebration, the Spring 2019 Animal Farm Foundation/Sector K9 Detection Dog Graduation Ceremony will be held May 23 at the Ferris Independent School District. The event starts at 10 a.m. at 301 East 5th Street.
