Counterfeit $100 passed in Midlothian

  MIDLOTHIAN – Midlothian Police are asking the public for their assistance in identifying a subject that recently attempted to pass multiple counterfeit $100 bills at Brookshires located at 1400 E Main Street. The incidents took place on March 13 and March 26.

Ellis County Commissioners recognize ‘Paint the Town Blue’ initiative

  WAXAHACHIE – At a recent Ellis County Commissioner’s Court meeting a resolution was read supporting Child Abuse Prevention Month. The county’s initiative for the month is called “Paint the Town Blue” recognized by Ellis County Judge John Wray and the commissioners.

21-year-old convicted for driving while intoxicated

  WAXAHACHIE – Jacob Castillo, 21, of Dallas was convicted in an Ellis County Court last week for driving while intoxicated. The intoxication was caused by marijuana use prior to operating a motor vehicle.  Castillo was sentenced to probation for a term of 20 months.

EYES ON ELLIS COUNTY (April 2, 2026)

  BARDWELL Bardwell’s cleanup day will be April 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. ENNIS The Ennis Welcome Center will be displaying art from April 1 – 30 as its “Spring into Art!” celebration. The collective exhibit will feature the talented Art of Ennis EISD students.

  Welcome to the “Front-Porch.” As I write, the amazin’ blonde and I are stationed at Coca-Cola and Glory’s house off of the Roanoke Road in my hometown. OUT TO PASTOR: Retiring my insanity

  After some months of intense reflection, I have come to the conclusion that it is time for my insanity to retire. The evidence before me is so overwhelming that I’m not sure I have any other choice. And believe me, I have looked. Not that I haven’t benefited from my insanity.
