ELLIS COUNTY GOP TO MEET JUNE 1

The monthly meeting of the Ellis County Republican Party will be Tuesday, June 1 at 6:30 at their new location, Ennis Motorplex, in the Champions Club, 7500 US-287 N. in Ennis.

Brazoria Co. woman added to most wanted fugitives list

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has added Margaret Lorrain Smith to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list. Smith, 62, has been wanted since 2009 for fleeing during her capital murder case.

FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than books (May 27, 2021)

The Ferris Public Library’s 2021 Virtual Summer Reading Club schedule is available at the library, and it is posted on our Facebook page. Last year’s Reading Club was successful, with numerous families viewing the programs online.

Tsta Coleman of Oak Leaf earned an Associate of Arts, Ryan Holben of Waxahachie earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity, and Tom Watiti of Milford earned a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus.

Government imposters using new tactics

Social Security’s Office of Inspector General has received reports of phone scammers creating fake versions of the identification badges most Federal employees use to gain access to Federal buildings.
