Scammers impersonating Ellis County court official

ELLIS COUNTY – There is yet another scam in Ellis County – this one impersonating an Ellis County Court official.Ellis County Sheriff’s Office warned on their Facebook page they had received reports of a phone scam where individuals were impersonating “Sgt. Mike McKenna from the Ellis County Courts.

INDIA – Ellis County Sheriff’s Department broke up a major cockfighting ring in the 700 block of E. India in Ellis County near the City of Ferris.According to the Sheriff’s Department, there were 16 citations made at the location with no arrests and no towed vehicles from the location.
