Happy birthday to 102-year-old Wilmer resident O.D. Chalmers

  WILMER – Wilmer resident O.D. Chalmers turned 102 last week on July 16. In addition to wishing him a happy birthday, here are a few details of his life. Originally from Marshall, Texas, he was born in 1924 and moved to Wilmer at the age of 97. Chalmers is also a proud Navy Veteran.

Wilmer Mayor Sheila Petta resigns

  WILMER – Wilmer’s Mayor Sheila Petta stepped down from her mayoral seat this past Friday, July 10. Her resignation letter read “It is with mixed emotions that I submit my resignation as Mayor of the City of Wilmer, effective July 10, 2026.

Frank Posada named new city administrator in Wilmer

  WILMER – Frank Posada has been named as Wilmer’s new City Administrator. Posada’s official effective date was July 6, and he was appointed to the position on June 18.
