FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than books (July 11, 2019)

The Ferris Public Library’s 2019 Summer Reading Club will conclude with a children’s party at Mutz Park on Wednesday, July 17, starting at 11 a.m. Jones Jumpers will be supplying a bounce house and water slides. We will announce the Reading Winners, who need to be present to receive prizes.

LUNCH MENU FOR July 8 – 12 Monday, July 8: Beans & cornbread, fried potatoes and dessert. Wednesday, July 10: Spaghetti and meatballs, salad and dessert. Friday, July 12: Baked fish, baked potatoes and coleslaw.   LUNCH MENU FOR July 15 – 19 Monday, July 15: Spaghetti, salad and dessert.

LOCAL STUDENT UPDATE: July 11, 2019

Springfield College has named Navreet Pointer of Waxahachie to the dean’s list for academic excellence for the spring 2019 term. Pointer is studying Human Services. Criteria for selection to the dean’s list requires that the student must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.

WILMER – Every year the Best Southwest Scholarships are given to local students in each of the Best Southwest Cities, normally at the end of the school year. Wilmer was proud to congratulate Jenna Richey this year as that city’s winner.
