AUSTIN – Anglers across Texas are marking their calendars and packing their tackle boxes for Free Fishing Day June 4.Each year on the first Saturday in June, Texans can fish on any public waterbody in the state without a fishing license.

4 KILLED, INCLUDING 2 CHILDREN, IN WRONG-WAY CRASH ON I-45

WILMER – Four people were killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 45 southeast of Dallas on Sunday night, police said. Wilmer police reported a woman, identified as Francisca Fuentes, was driving a minivan northbound in the southbound lanes of the interstate when she hit an SUV head-on.

Ennis High School student competes in Extreme Mustang Makeover

ENNIS – An Ennis High School sophomore is competing in Extreme Mustang Makeover this year.Jennifer Cox, 14, said the challenge is 100 days to train a wild Mustang, and she is happy to be taking part in the competition.
“Today, it’s our pleasure to present a proclamation celebrating the sesquicentennial anniversary of the founding of the City of Ennis,” Ellis County Judge Todd Little said.

Ellis County Commissioner’s Court celebrates Ennis Sesquicentennial

ENNIS – Ellis County Judge Todd Little presented a proclamation to City of Ennis Mayor Angeline Juenemann at last week’s Commissioner’s Court recognizing the City of Ennis for the sesquicentennial (150th) anniversary of its founding.The date of the anniversary is June 8.
