LANCASTER – Izayah Lee scampered 19 yards on a game-ending touchdown in overtime as Lancaster prevailed 41-35 over Cedar Hill at Tiger Stadium on Friday.
Lee was the star for Lancaster (2-3, 2-0 in District 11-6A), finishing with 159 rushing yards on 17 carries and scoring three touchdowns.
Cedar Hill (2-3, 1-1) took the opening kickoff and drove 89 yards on a time-consuming 16-play drive to take the early lead when Tamarion Crochett connected with Cedric Mills across the middle for an 11-yard strike.
Crochett finished with 141 yards on 14-of-25 passing.
Lancaster answered on its opening drive behind the arm of Nevada commit Carter Jones, who connected with Ja’
Quavius Pipkin on a 9-yard pass to briefly take a 7-6 lead.
Cedar Hill responded with two quick touchdowns, runs by Jalen Brewster and CJ Castleberry to take a 20-14 halftime lead.
The second half was back-and-forth with Lancaster tying the score 35-35 with 1:28 to go following a 56-yard TD catch from Emmanuel Choice. In overtime, Cedar Hill’s drive ended with an interception before Lee delivered the knockout blow.
