LANCASTER – Duncanville quarterback Maximus The Great Denson had 122 passing yards to lead the Panthers to a 42-0 win over the Red Oak Hawks on Friday night at Beverly D. Humphery Tiger Stadium.
Duncanville (2-3, 1-1) held Red Oak to 28 yards rushing and 123 yards passing.
The game marked the first time this year in which the Hawks were not able to get on the board.
Panther running back Joe Mckinney II had 12 carries for 86 yards and 2 touchdowns. Duncanville’s rushing attack gashed the Red Oak defense for 203 yards and 6 touchdowns. Purdue commit, wide receiver, Trenton Yancey had 4 catches for 33 yards.
Red Oak (3-2, 1-1) had an opportunity to put points on the board in the 1st quarter, but their field goal attempt was blocked.
The Hawks defense held the Panthers scoreless until 4:14 into the 2nd quarter when the Panthers scored their first touchdown.
Red Oak had another chance after Duncanville’s punt returner fumbled the punt deep into the Panthers side of the field, but four consecutive downs for lost yardage pushed the Hawks out of field goal range.
No other opportunities came the Hawks way the rest of the game.
Red Oak quarterback Tuhran Square II threw for 128 yards on 12 of 28 passing. He also threw two interceptions.
Red Oak’s defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Duncanville, the victory was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-3.
Red Oak and Duncanville both have a bye week. The Hawks will next face Crowley at 7 p.m. on Oct. 9. Also on Oct. 9, Duncanville will take on Mansfield at 7 p.m.
