OBITUARY: Maria Anita Bustamante

The passing of our family matriarch, Mrs. Maria Anita Bustamante leaves this Earth with the wings she worked so hard to earn on May 4, 2019.

She was born to Francisco and Joaquina Rodriguez on July 6, 1928 in Dilley, Texas. She is survived by her sisters Trinidad Capistran and Guadalupe Gracia, and proceeded in death by her brother Cosme Rodriguez and sister’s Catalina Escallante and Nativida Rodriguez and daughter Sylvia Bustamante.

Maria Anita Bustamante was the wife of Carlos G. Bustamante, who earned his wings in 1986. Together they raised 8 children and one niece – sons Joe Bustamante, Domingo Bustamante, Frank Bustamante, Juan Bustamante, Joaquin Bustamante, Mike Bustamante and daughters Olga Martinez and Mary. Our beloved mother had many friends.

Residing in Ferris for several years before moving to Ennis, where she raised her family since the early 1960’s. She is the grandmother to 153 grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren. There was nothing more she loved than spending time with her family, dancing, singing, traveling and praying. Her presence will be greatly missed but her spirit will live on forever. Being a very faithful child of God, she loved sharing her blessings and blessing those in her presence.

She was buried alongside her husband and daughter at the Ferris Memorial Cemetery, Ferris.

A Memorial Service in her honor will be held Tuesday May 14, 2019 at Creechville Baptist Church, 900 Creechville Rd., Ennis, at 6 p.m. Please join us as we celebrate the life of our mother.
