Body

James Alexander Davidson was born in Mount Clemens, Michigan on May 1, 1957 to his parents Bernice and Thomas. He was the youngest of five children, two sisters and two brothers. He grew up a wild-hearted young man, collecting stories along the way.

In 1974 he joined the Army. That took him across to Germany and then back to the USA. He was a very proud American. After the Army, he traveled down to Texas with his brother Norman, where he would start a family. He is the proud father of his only son and two daughters. He would tell everyone about them all of the time throughout his years. He loved his kids more than anything. Jimmy was a CDL truck driver that drove millions of miles during his life. Probably billions. He loved to stop along the way, with his kids in tow, just to show them a Natural Cavern, a mountain top, a pit stop at the four corners or the foothills of Salt Lake, watch a tornado across a corn field, and so much more… If it was interesting he was telling you about it. He was a collector of memories and good times.

He resided in Ellis County where he had a ton of friends. If he called you a friend, it meant you were family, even if there was a disagreement through the years. He loved his friends’ kids as they were his own. He was tough as nails but had a heart of gold. He made a mean brisket, loved to grill and chill outside. Jimmy would show up with food to cook or a plate that was ready to be dug in to or to lend a helpful hand around the yard. He was a very simple man who never wanted anyone to go hungry. He would give anyone the shirt off of his back if they needed it more than him. He loved all the dogs, always had a treat in his pocket. He loved to cut up and have a good time. He loved to laugh and enjoy the day. He would tell you several times he loved you before departing. He would always remind you to enjoy the day, try to not stress, and he would always say “hug each other for me.”He was a great man who loved hard and was the proudest Grandpa.

Jimmy is survived by his sisters (his angels), Christine Darson of Clinton Township, MI; Marian Rogers and her husband of Benbrook, TX; his brother, Thomas David Davidson, Jr. of Astatula, FL; his son Jacob Davidson of Euless, TX; his daughters, Jennifer Davidson of Waxahachie, TX; and Shannon Touponce, Son-in-law, Michael Touponce, Jr. of Arlington, TX; grandson and the real favorite, Michael Touponce III; and a few spoiled grand-dogs. He is the proud Uncle of his favorite niece, Valerie Darson of Harrison Township, MI; Allen Darson and his family of Chesterfield, MI; Steven Darson of Brooklyn, NY; and Paul Davidson and his family of Sheridan, AR. He is preceded in death by his mother Bernice Virginia Davidson; father, Thomas David Davidson; brother, “Stormin’” Norman Davidson; his best friend, Dale Thomas, so many dogs, and numerous other loved ones.
