MAYPEARL – The City of Maypearl posted a “Notice of Council Vacancy” on its city Facebook page last week.
It noted, “The City of Maypearl is seeking qualified and interested residents to fill a vacancy on the City Council. The individual appointed to this position will serve until the next regular municipal election, in accordance with Texas law.”
The specific name of the council member who has either stepped down or is stepping down was not mentioned and Maypearl’s municipal page shows no vacancies.
The city’s last update on its elections page was from 2025.
There was some speculation on the city’s Facebook page as to who was stepping down, but no official announcement has been made.
Maypearl operates as a General Law Type A city with At-Large council seats, members do not represent specific geographic districts or named individual places on the ballot.
