ITALY – The Italy Police Department reported late last week they had been requested to assist Dallas PD in arresting a violent offender with an active warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The suspect was taken into custody behind the under construction Southern Tire Mart located on LR Campbell Rd.
According to an Italy PD social media post, “One subject unrelated to the warrant took off running into the field and was apprehended by Texas DPS for another unrelated warrant.”
During this incident a Sheriff’s deputy unit also caught fire and multiple fire departments were involved in extinguishing the fire.
The agencies involved in the law enforcement activity in addition to Italy PD were Dallas PD, Milford PD, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department and Texas DPS.
