ELLIS COUNTY – Local leaders from around Ellis County gathered last Thursday to make the Sister County and Sister Region memorandum official with the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic.
Officials gathered at the Historic Ellis County Courthouse in Waxahachie for the official signing of the resolution
In Ennis that same day, the city hosted a public session with Governor Netolický and his delegation from the Czech Republic.
Mansfield officials were also on hand for the signing and later posted on Facebook: “Mansfield makes up a small but proud part of Ellis County and as the Team Base Camp for Czechia during the FIFA World Cup 2026™ we welcome everyone to our city to celebrate Texas’ deep Czech connection!”
Mansfield will also be hosting a “Czech Out Mansfield” evening on June 21 at 5 p.m. at the new Geyer Commons where the city will celebrate Czech music, food, heritage and soccer/football.
