RED OAK – Ellis County Sheriff Deputies responded to a shooting Sunday, April 5 at 2:33 a.m. in the 200 block of Hearne Lane in Red Oak.
According to the Sheriff’s office, the shooting involved an adult male victim who sustained a gunshot wound.
He was airlifted to Parkland Hospital, where he died.
His name has not been released at this time.
Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene, processed evidence, and were able to conduct multiple witness interviews.
During the investigation, and based on evidence recovered at the scene, deputies identified Dallas resident Pantalion Lucio, 19, as the suspect.
A warrant for the murder was obtained, and a reviewing magistrate issued a preset bond of $1,000,000.
With the assistance of the Office of the Attorney General Fugitive Task Force, Lucio was later located in Dallas and taken into custody at his residence.
Ellis County Sheriff’s Department has not released information regarding the cause of the fatal shooting.
