RED OAK – The Red Oak ISD School Board approved the 2026-2027 School Calendar recommended by administration, which has similarities to the current year and includes additional days of instruction.
The 2026–2027 draft calendar was shared with staff, students, parents, and community members through the district website, social media platforms, and email to gather meaningful stakeholder input.
Based on the feedback received, revisions were made to include additional early release days and select Fridays off to support ongoing staff development and provide dedicated time for professional learning and staff wellness.
“We received excellent feedback on this year’s calendar with strategically placed breaks for staff and students.
"We explored week-long breaks in October and February, but heard from many who preferred more frequent, shorter breaks,” stated Superintendent Brenda Sanford.
“We have also added instructional days as we strive to move the academic needle for all campuses and the District.”
A spring Parent-Teacher Conference Day was also added to increase family engagement and provide progress on student achievement.
