WAXAHACHIE – The City of Waxahachie announced Scott Safford as its new Chief of Waxahachie Fire-Rescue.
Safford has 21 years of service to the Waxahachie community and it was noted he brings “extensive experience, leadership, and dedication to the role.”
Safford was officially sworn in as the new WFR Fire Chief by former Waxahachie Fire Chief and new City Manager Ricky Boyd.
He was surrounded by his family and WFR colleagues during the recent oath of service last week.
“He is an excellent leader who has my full support,” Boyd had said of the new fire chief when he was named as interim after the City Manager took his new position with the city.
